One of Us (ABBA song)

One Of Us is a song by Swedish pop group ABBA. It was written and composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The song has a playing time of 3 minutes and 55 seconds; the lead vocals are taken from Agnetha Fältskog. In December 1981, it was coupled with the Should I Laugh Or Cry B-side as the first single from the album The Visitors.

The play is, as well as The Winner Takes It All, of a broken relationship.

Background and development

The recording to One Of Us began on October 21, 1981, was thus one of the last in these sessions. Job titles were first number 1 and Mi Amore. The song begins with a beautiful and lively melody, which eventually turns into a kind of reggae groove. Here, even mandolins were used. The text described the true situation of the group: two divorced couples.
