Ongendus

Angantyr, also Ogendus or Ongendus was a king of the Danes. He lived to 710, and is more likely less than a king, but rather as an important regional chief and prince to be regarded. His name was handed down on the basis of a Christianisierungsversuchs the Anglo-Saxon missionary and St. Willibrord. This, however, succeeded only 30 boys, presumably Christian captives to ransom. King Angantyr remained faithful to the gods.

The " Angantyr Høj " is after the mythical king, whom Alcuin mentioned ( 735-804 ), called megalithic grave. He is said to have reigned 726 AD in Denmark at the time of the construction of Kanhave channel.

Angantyrs rojr is a Roese on Gansviken in the parish Grötlingbo near the southern tip of Gotland.
