Only Men Aloud!

Only Men Aloud! is a Welsh male voice choir. It was founded in 2000 in Cardiff by the opera singer Tim Rhys- Evans. A wide audience he is best known for winning the talent show Last Choir Standing, which aired in July and August 2008, the first TV program of the BBC.

Career

Rhys -Evans is of South Wales and was before the founding of the choir for five years in the ensemble of the Welsh National Opera. He also gained experience as a choral conductor. In 2000 he exhibited his own young men choir Only Men Aloud! together. With him pieces should come to the presentation that had Rhys -Evans influenced in his childhood, for choirs are rather atypical. Currently, the choir consists of 18 men, including teachers, musicians, students, a gardener and a pharmacist.

In the spring of 2008, the choir applied for participation in the designed of the BBC talent show Last Choir Standing. Among the 15 invited amateur choirs to Only Men Aloud translated! by the audience vote. One month after the final show they signed a multi-million pound lucrative recording contract with Universal Music, which provides for the recording of five albums.

The debut album of the choir appeared in late November 2008 and reached number 16 in the UK album charts.
