Onnens is a municipality in the district of Jura-Nord Vaudois in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

Geography

Onnens is located on 477 m above sea level. M., 7 km north-east of the district capital Yverdon- les- Bains ( straight line ). The village is located on a slight elevation at the foot of the Jura, near the western shore of Lake Neuchâtel.

The area of ​​5.1 km ² large municipality area comprises a narrow section on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel. The communal land extends from the flat riparian strips northward on the terrace of Onnens and the steep, densely forested slopes of the Jura ( Bois de Chenes and Bois de Vuillerens ) up to the crest of Mont Aubert, on the covers 1,300 m above sea level. Population

History

Attractions

The present building of the Reformed Church of Saint -Martin is from 1722., The predecessor of this church belonged to the Carthusian monastery of La Lance at Concise since the 14th century.
