Onny Parun

Onny Parun, OBE ( born April 15, 1947 in Wellington ) is a former New Zealand tennis player. He won in his career six singles titles and two doubles.

In the final of the Australian Open in 1973, he played against the Australians John Newcombe, but lost him in four sets 3:6, 7:6, 5:7 and 1:6.

The doubles competition of the French Open in 1974 won the Australian Dick Crealy with Parun against the American Stan Smith and Bob Lutz in five sets 6:3, 6:2, 3:6, 5:7 and 6:1.

His brother Tony also played tennis, and his nephew Anthony Bernard and also play tennis.
