ÅŒnohara Islands

Ōnohara Jima (Japanese大野 原 岛) is a group of small rocky islands of volcanic origin in the Pacific Ocean. It belongs geographically to the archipelago of the Izu Islands and administratively to the village ( community) of sub-prefecture Miyake Miyake Tokyo Prefecture of Japan.

Ōnohara -jima is located about 180 km south of Tokyo and 10 km west of Miyake- jima. The numerous rocks together have an area of ​​0.02 km ². The highest is located in the north Koyasu (子 安 岛, -shima ) at 114 m above sea level. The mainly composed of andesite rocks provide the largely submerged lava dome of a former volcano dar. Due to its profile from a distance it is also Sambondake (三 本 岳, dt " three peaks " ) called.
