Onomasti komodein

Onomasti komodein ( ὀνομαστὶ κωμῳδεῖν onomasti kōmōidein ) is a term used in ancient Greece expression (also known as Attic Old Comedy ) denotes the roll-call mocking of most respected people in the ancient Greek comedy of the 5th century BC. Here is a run in satirical form of personal attack, which was carried out with total freedom against prominent personalities (see in particular the attacks of Aristophanes against Cleon, the then most powerful man in Athens), Socrates ( the philosopher ), Euripides ( the tragedian ) to uncover their errors.

One view is that which owes its origin to the Peripatetic school, it was the basic characterizing aspect of the ancient Greek comedy of the first period.
