The Onon (Russian Онон; Mongolian гол Онон, Onon gol ) is the 1032 km long right- source river of the Shilka in East Asia.

It rises in Mongolia in the Khentii Mountains. Within Mongolia, the Onon has a length of 296 km and is therefore relative to the length of 19 out of the rivers of Mongolia. From the Khentii Mountains, it flows in a northeasterly direction to Russia and later united with the Ingoda the Shilka.

About 45 km further south from the headwaters of the Onon flows from the Cherlen. Larger tributaries of the Onon are: Churach - Gol, Borsja, Unda, Bald ski - Gol, Aguza, Kyra, Ilya and Aga.
