Onzain

Onzain is a commune with 3475 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Loir -et -Cher in the Centre region. The place is located right in the middle of the Loire, famous for its castles region.

History

Onzain belonged in the Middle Ages to the diocese of Chartres. In a document of 1183 the existence of a built by the counts of Blois castle is occupied, which served the defense against the encroachments of the Counts and Dukes of Anjou.
