Oorang Indians

The Indians were Oorang 1922/1923 an American football team in the National Football League of the United States.

They were settled in La Rue, Ohio near Marion, Ohio. La Rue, which is now 775 inhabitants, making it the smallest city to ever hosted an NFL team. The team was marked also by the fact that all players Indians were under the leadership of the players coach Jim Thorpe.

The name of the team comes from the Oorang dog breed, whose owner, Walter Lingo founded the team. Of the 20 games that the Oorang Indians played in their existence, only one was a home game they fought out at the nearby Marion.
