OPAP

OPAP (Greek Οργανισμός Προγνωστικών Αγώνων Ποδοσφαίρου Α.Ε., short ΟΠΑΠ Α.Ε. ) ( German: Organisation for football forecasts ), the formerly state-owned lottery and sports betting provider in Greece. The company was founded in 1958, now holds the state 34.4 % of the shares. The company is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange in Athex Composite Share Price Index.

The Greek government held by 33 percent of OPAP were sold on August 12, 2013 for € 652 million to the Czech- Greek consortium Emma Delta Ltd.. Emma Delta is one of around 67 percent in the Czech Jiri Smejc entrepreneurs and 33 percent of the Greek shipowner George Melissanidis.

OPAP holds until 2020 the monopoly on sports betting and lottery monopoly until 2030 in Greece
