Opatovice I

Opatovice I ( German Opatowitz I) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is eleven kilometers south of Kutná Hora and belongs to Okres Kutná Hora.

Geography

Opatovice I is located in the valley of the brook Opatovický creek in the foothills of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. Southwest of the village is the forest area of ​​the Opatovický les. Above the village fed the creek four ponds.

Neighboring towns are Březova in the north, Korotice in the northeast, Lomeček and Lany in the east, in the southeast Vilémovice, Červené Janovice in the south, Černíny in the southwest, and Zavadilka Předbořice in the west and Bahynko and Bahno in the northwest.

History

Opatovice was first documented in 1344. Owner of the place was in 1350, the rich Kuttenberger local citizens, Jan Glencl, the outlying from the other monastic property Village bought from the Monastery Sedlec. Glencl later bequeathed his estate to the hospital in Kutna Hora. 1379 the Council sold to Kuttenberg the yard Opatovice to the citizens Vaclav Bartos. After his death, the estate fell in 1684 to Wilhelm Leopold Zaruba of Hustiřan. From 1735 belonged Opatovice the Jesuits in Kutna Hora. After the replacement of patrimonial Opatovice in 1850 into an independent municipality in the district of Kutná Hora. 1865 sold Johanka Svobodová the goods to Christian Schaffer.
