Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park

The Open Air Theatre in London's Regent 's Park is an open air theater, which is recorded in the summer for three to four months. Founded as the stage in 1932 by Sydney Carroll and Robert Atkins.

Is availed the stage in the first place by the New Shakespeare Company, who is also owner of the plant. The summer season usually presents a production of Midsummer Night's Dream, another piece of Shakespeare, a musical and a children's theater, that are listed alternately. The theater, which seats 1,200 people, is located in the innermost region of the Regent 's Park and is thus completely surrounded by the park. According to the company, the theater has one of the longest bars of all London theaters, which extends over the entire length of the rows of seats. Here full meals are served from one and a half hours before the game and during the intermission. Barbecue will be offered as well as a picnic area with tables, where the audience can even eat outside food.

The complex has a large backstage area with the living room for actors and technicians, with workshops for the construction and maintenance of the scenes and offices for management, lighting and sound equipment and other employees.

As an open-air theater, the Open Air Theatre is strongly dependent from the English weather, which caused frequent interruptions and failures as in the 2007. In bad weather, contact immediately the Met Office added to retrieve the latest weather forecast. Performances can not be moved more than 45 minutes usually. This is especially true for matinee shows, since a delayed end of which would interfere with the technical preparations for the evening performances.
