Open mic

The term Open Micro ( English Open mic ) denotes an event, to which authors come together and present their work to an audience.

There are presented mostly self-written texts. Unwritten rules are: a time limit ( about ten minutes), no racist, discriminating, vulgar or offensive lyrics. After the lecture, the audience can comment on the works. But there is no "mandatory review" as in the regulated variant, the Poetry Slam. Open mics are available in many cities as regularly scheduled events.

The extended version of the open mics that allows not only text but also other cabaret and musical contributions, the Open Stage. In the hip- hop culture, this paper proposes way down through the so-called Open Mic Sessions, in which rappers have the ability to improvise lyrics to instrumental beats by " freestyle " to present.
