Operation Windmill ( OpWml ) ( Company Wind Mill) was a research and training mission of the United States Navy in the Antarctic 1947-1948. Operation followed known to the First Antarctic Developments Project, under the name Operation High Jump ( company high jump ) is. The expedition, Task Force 39 ( Task Force 39), Commander ( Commander ) Gerald L. Ketchum, U.S. Navy was headed, his expedition flagship was the USS Burton Iceland, accompanied by the USS Edisto.
