Geography

Opfenbach lies in the Allgäu region, more precisely in the Western Allgäu region, about 15 km from Lindau on Lake Constance. A district of Opfenbach is the known Wigratzbad. Other districts are Mellatz, Beuren, homes, Litzis, Göritz, Mywiler and Ruhlands. There is only the district Opfenbach.

History

In Opfenbach and Mellatz were found remains of Roman burg, tower-like buildings that were built to reinforce the border fortifications between the forts at a distance of about 1.5 to 2 km, with an almost square floor area of ​​10 to 12 meters on a side.

Opfenbach was part of the Austrian rule Bregenz- Hoheneggstraße.
