The Opiliaceae are a plant family in the order of sandalwood ( Santalales ) within the angiosperms ( Magnoliopsida ). They are widespread in the tropics of the New and Old World.

Description

The types of Opiliaceae are evergreen trees, shrubs or lianas and often root parasites. The simple ganzrandigen leaves are alternate and mostly double row; on large areas of the leaf blade no leaf veins are visible.

They are dioecious getrenntgeschlechtig ( dioecious ) or some species have hermaphrodite flowers. The inflorescences are cauliflor. In many species the young inflorescences as kitten look. The small flowers are usually four to fünfzählig. The perianth consists of each is generally four to five sepals, petals, or there are (three to eight equally protean bloom yet. In the male flowers four to five stamens are present. In the female flowers two to five carpels are fused into a superior ovaries. In the hermaphrodite flowers are included stamens and ovary. drupes are formed with a large, oily seeds.

System

There are (up to 28 ) differed about 60 types 10 to 13 genera with:

  • Agonandra Miers ex Benth.; with ten species in Mexico, Central and tropical South America.
  • Anthobolus R. Br; with three species in Australia.
  • Cansjera Juss.; with three species in India and Ceylon to southern China, New Guinea and northern Australia.
  • Champereia Griffith.; with the only kind: Champereia manillana (Blume ) Merr. You is highly variable and has areas on the Andaman Islands, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan and Sumatra to western New Guinea.
  • Gjellerupia papuana Lauterb. ; it occurs in New Guinea.
  • Lepionurus sylvestris flower; it comes from Nepal and Assam prior to western Malaysia's.
  • Melientha suavis Pierre; it comes from South East Asia to the Philippines.
