Opočnice

Opočnice ( German Opotschnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-west of Městec Králové and belongs to fulltext your real estates.

Geography

Opočnice is on a ridge of the East Bohemian panel in the headwaters of the creek Velenický ( Velenka ). To the west the hill rises Vinný vrch (252 m) and in the southeast of the Na Hřebínku ( Banberg, 271 m).

Neighboring towns are Městec Králové and Běrunice in the northeast, Dlouhopolsko in the east, Hradcany and Stara BAN in the southeast, and Kolaje Vlkov pod Oškobrhem in the southwest, and Srbce Vrbice in the west and Podmoky in the northwest.

History

First mentioned in writing was the place Woppocznici in 1223, as Sezima of Kostomlaty left him to the Benedictine monastery Vilémov. In another document the Vilémover Abbot Hermann to have the village Woppocznici and the festivals Bolice already received 1219. There was a small party at the Velenka. In 1288 the village was called desolate. Later the place came to the monastery Sadská that him in 1367 the Prague collegiate of St.. Apollinaris handed. In this period was probably also started with the wine on the southern slope of the ridge between Opočnice and Vrbice. During the Hussite Wars, the area was devastated. In the first half of the 16th century, the hospital was in Český Brod owner of the village. During the Thirty Years' War in 1624 Opočnice was burned down by Saxon troops.
