Opole County

The powiat Opolski is a powiat ( county ) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship. The county has 135,000 inhabitants and an area of 1587 km ².

Geography

The circle surrounds the county seat of Opole ( Opole ), but does not belong to him, but remains acyclic. Neighboring districts are in the north and Namyslów Kluczbork, in the east and Olesno Strzelce, in the south Krapkowice, Prudnik, Nysa and in the west Brzeg.

Cities and Towns

The powiat includes thirteen municipalities, three of urban and rural communities - Niemodlin, Ozimek and Prószków whose eponymous main places have the municipal law - and ten rural communities. Here are the communities Prószków / Proskau and Chrząstowice / Chrząstowice since 2006, Tarnów / Tarnów Opolski since 2007 as well as large Döbern / Dobrzeń Wielki and Comprachtschütz / Komprachcice since 2009 by virtue of municipal council officially bilingual. The German population in these communities represents over 20%.
