Opolje

Opoja ( Serbian Cyrillic Опоље, Opolje ) is forming the northern part of the municipality of Dragash in the far south of Kosovo.

Opoja bordered to the north by the municipality of Prizren and on the south by Gora, the southern part of the greater community Dragash. To the west it borders with Albania and Macedonia to the east.

Opoja comprises 21 villages with a total of about 23,000 inhabitants. The inhabitants are almost all Albanians, while Goran is inhabited almost exclusively by the Gorani. In Dragash, the administrative center of the municipality, which lies exactly on the border between the two regions, both ethnicities mix.
