SE Opperman Limited was a British manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

The company, based in Elstree Hertsmere began in 1956 with the production of automobiles. In 1959 the production was stopped.

Rolling stock

Unicar

The only production model of Opperman was the Unicar. It was a small car. It had four wheels, the rear wheels were closely together than the front. The engine was mounted mid-engine layout in front of the rear axle. The two-door bodywork offered front room for two people and two in the rear jump seats beside the engine. Between 1956 and 1958, a two-cylinder two -stroke engine of Anzani was used which delivered 15 bhp from 322 cc. Between 1957 and 1959, a two-cylinder engine of Excelsior 328 cc and 18 hp was used. A total of about 200 copies were produced.

Stirling

The Opperman Stirling was a prototype, were produced of which only two copies. It was a coupe. The two-cylinder engine with 424 cc displacement was mounted as a mid-engine ahead of the rear axle.

A vehicle of this make is to visit the Bubble Car Museum in Cranwell in Lincolnshire.
