Öppna landskap

Öppna Landskap ( German: Open landscapes) is a Swedish summer song, which was written in 1982 by Ulf Lundell. It is often referred to as Sweden's unofficial national anthem. However, exactly how comes in the sung on official occasions the first two stanzas of the official anthem You gamla, you fria, the term Sverige ( Sweden) not available. As a basis for the song Lundell took the spring song Listen hur västvinden SUSAR by Lars Lundh August.

The text describes in a romantic and sometimes slightly self-deprecating manner, the Swedish naturalist and certain Swedish peculiarities, for example, that one likes to spend a large part of his life in seclusion in the open countryside or by the sea, but also self- burning brandy.

The piece was already very often gecovert in Sweden, among others, the famous Viking rock band Ultima Thule.

Excerpt

First stanza

Jag trivs bäst i Öppna landskap

Nära havet vill jag bo

Nagra månader om året

Så att själen kan få ro

Jag trivs bäst i Öppna landskap

Dar vindarna får fart

Dar lärkorna står högt i skyn

Och underbart sjunger

Dar bränner jag mitt brännvin själv

Och kryddar med johannisört

Och Dricker the med välbehag

Till sill och hembakt Voert

Jag trivs bäst i Öppna landskap

Nära havet vill jag bo
