OPTi Inc. is an American technology company, founded in 1989 in Milpitas, California.

History

In the early 1990s, was OPTi Inc. one of the largest manufacturers of computer chipsets and audio processors for Intel's IA -32 architecture. In 1995 OPTi Inc. had an annual turnover of over 163 million U.S. dollars with a profit of over 11 million U.S. dollars.

With increasing dominance of Intel in the area chipsets tried OPTi Inc. in the late 1990s unsuccessful, the product range to the range of mobile computers align. In 2002, affiliated OPTi Inc. all production and marketing activities into a separate company OPTi Technologies Inc., headquartered in Palo Alto from.
