Optical Mark Recognition

Optical Mark Recognition (OMR ) is a technique for computer-aided detection of marks on paper similar to the text recognition Optical Character Recognition ( OCR). OMR is frequently used for the automatic evaluation of forms such as multiple choice tests or ballots. Modern inserters need to control also OMR codes on the letters. In addition to traditional OMR codes ( bar codes or control characters - they usually take place between the filing holes of documents) barcodes and Data Matrix codes are now used. This code is also known as OMR (Optical feature recognition).
