Opzij

Opzij (Eng. " Out of the way! " Or " Go to page " ) is a Dutch feminist magazine with a monthly publication. Editorial seat is Amsterdam. The publisher is " Veen Media ". The number of copies sold was 2008 65.627 copies in the first quarter.

History

Opzij 1972 by Wim Hora Adema, formerly editor of the children's and women's pages of Het Parool, and Hedy d' Ancona, former inter alia, editor and anchor at the broadcasting company VARA, was founded. Figureheads of the Dutch feminism as Joke Smit were a constant staff of the magazine. First, radical feminist organizing in the orientation and as a collective, they quickly became milder and put their collectivist character in 1981 with the establishment of Cisca Dresselhuys as editor in chief finally shelved. D' Ancona turned meanwhile increasingly to politics and eventually became in 1989 Minister of Welfare, Health and Cultural Affairs ( PvdA).

1981 Cisca Dresselhuys was the first editor in chief. From June 1992, introduced by Dresselhuys " Feminist yardstick" to a figurehead of the magazine, which she put to important personalities from politics, business, media and culture was. In the context of out of her interviews Dresselhuys awarded a value of -10 to 10, depending on how much their male interviewees corresponded to their opinion, the ideals of feminism. Ayaan Hirsi Ali was also employee of the magazine and came through with Dresselhuys Gerrit Zalm, at that time leader of the VVD in contact, what should be the starting point for her later work as a Member of the Dutch Lower House for the VVD. 1 April 2008 Dresselhuys retired, her successor was until 2013 Margriet van der Linden.
