Oqil Oqilov

Oqil Ghaibullojewitsch Oqilow ( Tajik Оқил Ғайбуллоевич Оқилов, Persian آقل غیباللهیوچ آقلاو, Russian Акил Акилов / Akil Akilov; born February 2, 1944 in Khujand ) is a Tajik politician and served from 1999 to 2013 Prime Minister of Tajikistan.

Oqilow is a member of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, led by President Emomali Rahmon. He studied until 1967 at the Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering (now the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering ). After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he held various political offices in the newly independent Republic of Tajikistan, he was from 1993 to 1994 Minister of Construction, 1994-1996 Deputy Prime Minister, 1996-1999 First Vice- Governor of the Province Leninobod (now Sughd province).

Since 20 December 1999 was Oqilow Prime Minister of Tajikistan. On November 23, 2013, was dismissed by President Rahmon from this office.
