Orahova

Orahova is a place in the Bosnian municipality Gradiška. It is located on the Sava, which forms the border with Croatia here, and has about 4,500 inhabitants.

Orahova was settled in the 1860s. The settlers came from Serbia. They were expelled from the country because of their Muslim religion. During the Bosnian war, they were expelled for the same reason from Orahova, but returned after the Dayton agreement almost completely. The three ancient mosques were blown up during the Bosnian war. These were rebuilt after the return of Bosniaks 2001-2012.
