Orange-Fin Anemonefish (Amphiprion chrysopterus )

The Orange-Fin Anemonefish (Amphiprion chrysopterus ) lives in the coral reefs of the Philippines, the northern New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and the Great Barrier Reef.

The body of the fish is dark brown on the edges, the underside of the head and fins orange. The caudal fin is white. Two wide, white- blue horizontal stripes stretch across the body, the first directly behind the eye, the second begins in the middle of the dorsal fin. The dorsal fin has ten to eleven hard - and 15 to 17 soft rays, the anal fin two hard and 13 to 14 soft rays. Amphiprion chrysopterus is long with up to 15 centimeters.

It accepts six symbiotic anemones as a partner:

  • Magnificent ( Heteractis magnifica),
  • Teppichanemone ( Stichodactyla haddoni ) and
