Orange Route

The Orange Route is a tourist route that runs from Amsterdam ( Netherlands) North and Central Germany again back to Amsterdam. It is 2400 km long and crosses the Netherlands and nine German Länder. The Orange Route leads through towns and regions which are of the house of Orange- Nassau connected for centuries.

States

The Orange Route leads coming from the Netherlands, first through North Rhine -Westphalia, Rhineland -Palatinate and Hesse only in the south, then in a north - easterly direction to strive towards by Lower Saxony, Saxony -Anhalt, Brandenburg and Berlin. From here it goes north-west by Mecklenburg -Vorpommern and to the west by Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Lower Saxony again back to the North Sea coast near Amsterdam.

On this holiday route the different landscapes are traversed: the North Sea coast and the plains of Holland, the Lower and Middle Rhine Valley, the green, sometimes harsh, sometimes gentle mountain range, the Havel country, the Mecklenburg Lake District and finally the wide plains of the north.
