Orchestre de la Suisse Romande

The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande ( OSR) is a symphony orchestra with an international reputation in Geneva. It was founded in 1918 by Ernest Ansermet, who conducted it until 1967.

The OSR gives concerts in the Concert Hall Victoria Hall Geneva and Lausanne, it does opera and ballet music for the Geneva Opera ( Grand Théâtre de Genève ) and makes regular tours of Europe, North America and the Far East.

Works of many composers were premiered by the OSR in Geneva: Benjamin Britten, Claude Debussy, Heinz Holliger, Arthur Honegger, Frank Martin, Darius Milhaud, Igor Stravinsky, etc.

Currently Metin Arditi is president of the OSR ( as CEO of a private carrier Foundation ), Steve Roger chief administrator and chief conductor Marek Janowski.
