Orco Feglino

Orco Feglino ( in Ligurian: Orco - Fegin ) is a municipality with 889 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Savona.

Geography

Orco Feglino lies in the valley of the river Aquila, in the hinterland of Finale Ligure. The community consists of two, on the southern slopes of Monte Alto ( 956 meters) located settlements, Feglino at an altitude of 161 meters and Orco at about 377 meters. The former is at the bottom and is the seat of the municipal administration, Orco, however, is on a mountain ridge. Orco Feglino belongs to the Comunità Montana Pollupice and is some 67 kilometers from the provincial capital Savona.

According to the Italian classification with respect to seismic activity, the community of zone 4 was assigned. This means that Orco Feglino located in a seismically inert zone.

Climate

The municipality is classified under climate category D, as the number of degree days has a value of 1694. This means that in Italy legally regulated heating season is between November 1 and April 15 for 12 hours per day.
