Order of Agricultural Merit
The French Order of Merit for Agriculture (French Ordre du Mérite Agricole ) was founded on 7 July 1883 on the request of the Minister of Agriculture, Félix Jules Méline, the French President Jules Grevy. It was intended as a reward of merit in the field of agriculture and forestry, although not sufficient to award the Order of the Legion of Honour. The ceremony took place at the decision of the Minister of Agriculture.

Order decoration
The religious character is a silver enamelled six-pointed star, which is highlighted in the angles of a golden wreath of ears of corn and corn stalks. In the medallion -turned to the right head of Marianne is depicted. All around, in a blue enamelled circlet REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE and the inscription in the lower part of the hoop two crossed laurel branches. The rear of the two-line inscription MERITE Agricole and the year 1883.
The ribbon is green with emerald red side stripes.
