Order of the Cross of Vytis

The Order of the Vytis - Cross was founded on 18 May 1919 the President of the Republic of Lithuania Aleksandras Stulginskis and can come to people for the award, the freedom and independence of the country have made deserve to. Ceremonies were performed until the occupation of the Republic in 1940. After re- independence of Lithuania, the Order January 15, 1991 was restored.

Order decoration

The religious character is a black enamelled, provided with a white border cross of Lorraine. The vertical bar is the red enameled national emblem, which is underlain by two crossed swords. In the reverse the inscription uz NARSUMA is found in the horizontal cross bar at the top ( for valor ) and in the lower 1919 ( foundation year).

Carrying method

The Grand Cross is worn on a sash from the right to the left side and with a neunstrahligen breast star, on which rests the religious character. Grand Officers decorate the award as well as the commanders as a neck order, but they also contribute to breast star described. Officers and knights bear the label on the tape on the left chest. Both classes differ only by the number of leader support in the form of a Eichenlaubastes.

The ribbon is moirerot with a wide and a narrow black side stripes.
