Order of the Crown (Monaco)

The Order of the Crown was on 20 July 1960 by Prince Rainier III. donated by the Prince of Monaco to reward the personal services rendered and is awarded as a sign of respect to nationals and foreigners in five classes.

Classes

The Order comprises five classes.

  • Grand Cross
  • Grand Officer
  • Commander
  • Officer
  • Knight

Order decoration

The religious character is a spade Cross with fluted silver arms and a golden middle stripe. Between the arms of the cross the intertwined initials of the founder in gold. In white enamel medallion the crown prince is seen. The rear of the diamonds of the national coat of arms in gold. Between cross and wearing a ring wreath of oak and laurel leaves attached.

Carrying method

Worn the Grand Cross with a sash from the left shoulder to right hip as well as with a breast star. Grand Officers wear breast star nor a neck order, commanders just the same. Officers and knights on the award ribbon on the left chest. When officers is also on the tape still attached to a rosette.

The ribbon is olive green with a red center stripe.
