Order of the Crown of Thailand

History

The Order was instituted on December 29, 1869 under the name of Order of the Siamese crown by King Chulalongkorn as a general order of merit and is awarded to both Thais and foreign dignitaries for their services to the Kingdom. 1932, with the renaming of Siam in Thailand, the name of the Order was amended accordingly.

Insignia

Originally founded as a breast star in four classes, the Order in 1873, divided into five classes. The number of members was limited thereby.

The medal decoration is a round star with alternating red and green lotus leaves as a double edge. Above is an ornament for the wearing ring. The round central shield has a golden field. The front shows in engraving the Siamese royal crown with arranged right and left seven -stage parasols.

Carrying method
