Order of the Double Dragon

The Order of the Double Dragon was donated by the Chinese emperor Koang Shui on 19 December 1881. The medal system and shape was strongly oriented to the European Ordensart and served on the Awarding of residents and nonresidents.

Order of classes

The Order had five degrees. The first three degrees were divided into three classes.

  • First Grade First Class for Sovereign
  • II class for princes and members of ruling dynasties
  • III. Class dignitaries, government ministers and ambassadors
  • First Class, except for ordinary envoys, ministers,
  • Second Class for Prime -residents, business support, General Customs Inspectors
  • III. Class for embassy secretaries, First Class, generals, consuls -general and college directors
  • First Class for embassy secretaries II and III. Class, consuls, interpreters, First Class, higher naval officers, Colonel, members of the Chair,
  • II class vice - consuls, naval officers, Colonel - lieutenant
  • III. Class of interpreters, majors, captains

Order decoration

  • The religious character of the first degree consists of a rectangular plate rounded. On a golden background, a double blue enamelled dragon. In the center of the plate between the dragon a great time dependent: First Class real pearl, ruby class II, III. Class a coral. The ribbon is red, gold interwoven and embroidered with two golden dragons. For the II and III. Class is the scarlet ribbon with silver embroidered dragon.
  • The religious character of the second degree is a round plate with blue and green enamelled ornament border. On a golden background, a double silver dragon. In the center is an engraved coral attached. The ribbon of the second degree is purple with two embroidered dragon.
  • The religious character of the third degree is a round plate with blue and green enamelled ornament border. On green enamelled ground a double golden dragon. In the center a sapphire mounted. The ribbon of the third degree is blue with two embroidered dragon.
  • The religious character of the fourth degree is a round plate with no border decoration. On green enamelled ground, a double silver dragon. In the middle a pearl attached. The ribbon of the fourth degree is maroon with two embroidered green dragon.
  • The religious character of the fifth degree is a round silver plate without border decoration. In light base a double green dragon. Centrally either a pearl or a stone placed. The ribbon of the fifth degree is moonlight color with two embroidered blue dragon.

To carry on all decorations at the top of a support ring was attached.
