Ordinary People (Slovakia)

Obyčajní Ludia a nezávislé osobnosti (Slovak for Ordinary People and independent people, also briefly Obyčajní Ludia, abbreviation Olano or ol) is a political party in Slovakia. Olano is represented by 16 deputies in the National Council of the Slovak Republic.

History

2010/11

Stood as a candidate in the parliamentary elections in 2010 Olano members on rear seats the list of ordoliberalen Sloboda a Solidarita ( SaS ). By preference votes Olano four members were elected to parliament. The Olano deputies joined the SaS Group and support the Iveta Radicova government. After the group's spokesman Igor Matović in a vote on a new citizenship law with the opposition SMER - voted Sociálna demokracia, he was expelled from the group.

On 11 November 2011, the Association was registered as an independent party.

2012

For early parliamentary election, 2012, the Olano took up with its own list. Among the 150 candidates were found also members of the Slovak Pirate Party. The 2010 elected parliamentarians stood as candidates in the last four places in the list. The Olano ended up with 8.55% of votes and 16 mandates in third place.
