Ore Mountain Toy Museum, Seiffen

The Erzgebirge Seiffen Toy Museum is an internationally recognized specialist and specialist museum with erzgebirgisches toys and the Erzgebirge folk art. It was opened in 1953 in Seiffen. In 1973 the Erzgebirge Open Air Museum as ethnographic - historical museum with 14 erzgebirgstypischen houses before 1900 added on the outskirts of the toy village.

History

The history of the toy museum begins with the wooden toys and wooden goods exhibition Seiffen, which took place from July 9 to August 3, 1914 in Albert salon. For admission price of 50 Pfg - 25 Pfg for children - could in the exhibition, for example, a Noah's Ark with 300 animals, chess pieces, products of tire spin - craft, which was then only in Seiffen - in a predicament Guild - was exercised, as well as larger animal figures, which were excised from post, admire. Exhibition was organized by Rev. Hermann Härtel ( born September 30, 1864 in Lichtenstein; † August 7, 1919 in Seiffen / Sa. ) Together with the District Business Association, whose many years he was chairman. Pastor Härtel equipped the exhibition with a part of his community collection.

In a like an old Ore facility designed space was a painted poster bed ( 1764), a huge chest ( 1734), an interior painted in the lid chest ( 1785 ), a colorful over interspersed with flowers Wardrobe (1798 ), a huge farmhouse table with fine wooden plate, earthenware, guild jugs, jars and other household items on display. On December 5, 1920, the Toy Museum opened in the newly established State Technical Trade School. The senior teacher of the founder Professor Alwin Seifert (1873-1937) since 1914 compiled collection " Older and newer toys " was enriched by the " pastor Härtel Collection". On 5 July 1953, building on the house as home and Toy Museum re-opened and eventually renamed Erzgebirgisches Toy Museum of Seiffen. The first visitors to the museum was Rudolf Mauersberger, whose Dresden Kreuz Choir had sung before in Seiffen Ping for the evening. Erzgebirgisches open-air museum
