Oregon County, Missouri
The Oregon County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2010, the County had 10,881 inhabitants and a population density of 5.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Alton, which was named after the city in Illinois.
Geography
The County is located in southeastern Missouri in the Ozarks and on the south by Arkansas. It has an area of 2050 square kilometers without significant water surface. At the Oregon County borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History
The Oregon County was formed in 1845. It was named after the Oregon Territory in the Northwest.
