Orenberg (Upland)

The Orenberg at Willingen in Hesse, Waldeck- Frankenberg is a 702 m above sea level. NN high hill in Upland, the northeast foothills of the Rothaargebirge.

Geography

Location

The Orenberg is located in the north-west Northern Hesse in Diemelsee Nature Park directly east-southeast of Willinger core city. As neighboring south-southeast of the Iberg ( 720.5 m ), it rises due east and west of the Ittertals its cash Aarbach with the lying beyond the brook Eideler mountain, the 700 m high southern slopes of the Lüerbergs (713 m).

Immediately southwest of the partially wooded hill is the railway bridge built in 1918, " The Viaduct " ( symbol of Willingen ) on which the railway crosses the Upland Itter and the B 251.

Nature Spatial allocation

The Orenberg heard in the main physiographic unit group Süder Bergland ( number 33) in the main unit Rothaargebirge ( with Sauerland ) ( 333) and the subunit Upland ( 333.9 ) for natural space affairs Upland ( 333.90 ).

Orenbergschanzen

At the northwest foot of Orenbergs are above the Ittertals on the outskirts of Willingen Orenbergschanzen (categories K 12, K 20 and K 45 ), the first in 1937 and was built to serve the most junior jumpers as training hills; they are also used as Matt jumps.

About 2 km south is located on the mill head near the Willinger district Stryck Mühlenkopfschanze, which is mainly used for international competitions.
