Organizational citizenship behavior

Organizational Citizenship Behavior ( OCB ) is a term used in industrial and organizational psychology. OCB describes a form of voluntary behavior in the form of additional commitment within the "organization", in which an employee works. Under OCB means a behavior that is outside the ( labor ) contractually agreed obligations and is therefore not claimable. It is specific for OCB that it goes beyond the forderbare commitment and this is not to opportunistic behavior from which the actor is expecting a personal advantage. A simple example would be a coworker to come on one occasion to help, to which the person is not required and for which the person expects nothing in return is. Studies on OCB for example, examine whether the OCB performance of the individuals involved and / or the organizational unit where the OCB takes place increases.
