The Orge at Brétigny -sur -Orge

The Orge is a river in France, which runs in the Île- de -France region. It rises in the municipality of Saint -Martin -de- Bréthencourt. The Orge drains generally in a northeasterly direction and empties after 53 kilometers at Athis -Mons, southeast of the airport Paris -Orly, as a left tributary of the Seine. A second tributary reaches the His four kilometers upstream, in Viry- Châtillon. On its way, the river crosses the départements of Yvelines and Essonne. His underflow leads in the Greater Paris through a densely populated area with about 370,000 residents.
