Orgyen Chokgyur Lingpa

Ugyen Choggyur Lingpa ( Tibetan ཨོ་རྒྱན་མཆོག་གྱུར་བདེ་ཆེན་གླིང་པ་, Tib: o rgyan mchog gyur gling pa also: Dechen Lingpa Choggyur, Tib. bde chen gling pa mchog gyur; * 1829, † 1870) is considered one of the most important tertöns of Tibetan history. He was a contemporary of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye and with whom he founded the Rime movement. His Termas be practiced in both the Kagyu and Nyingma in the school. Choggyur Lingpa translates as Choggyur: " excellent," Lingpa: " refuge for peace and happiness of beings " ( Lingpa, English: " ' sanctuary ' of peace and happiness for beings", is a common title for tertöns )

Choggyur Lingpa holder of seven transmission lines and the last of 100 major tertöns. Particularly well known he is, because he is a terma of " space class" ( Tib: klong sde, Longde ) has discovered the Dzogchen.

Choggyur Lingpa was not a monk, his main companion was Dechen Chodron.
