History

The company was founded more than 130 years ago under the name of Jones, Scott and Co. as a supplier of explosives during the Australian gold rush in Victoria. Later, the company was bought by Akzo Nobel. Nobel merged with other British chemical company, and there was the group Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI ). The Australian division was renamed in 1928 in Imperial Chemical Industries of Australia and New Zealand ( ICIANZ ), from 1971 ICI Australia was.
