Oriental Shorthair

The Oriental Shorthair is a cat breed.

Since 1951 baroness took from Ullman ( Roofspringer Cattery, England) the development of a new Siamese - variety before, the green eyes and a short, plain brown coat should have. After several failed attempts, the Oriental Shorthair breed originated and is recognized as a breed since 1972. The first true Oriental Shorthair was maroon. This variant is called Havana. Moreover, is any of the typed Siamese cats - regardless of the color shock - as Orientals.

The breed Oriental Shorthair is a playful, curious, intelligent (often it is described that the cat is able to open the room and closet doors), extroverted, described affectionate, trusting and talkative. She needs a lot of attention. It can be kept on a leash in most cases.

It occurs in 400 varieties and 30 colors, black and blue are common.

The females get from the age of 9 months per litter about 6 boy.

The body is elongated, slender and muscular. The legs are delicate. The tail is long and slender ( whippy ). The head is wedge -shaped, the nose is long, the ears are large and pointed. The eyes are almond shaped and slanted. The coat fits snug, is fine, silky and shiny.
