Forns Warbler ( Teretistris fornsi )

The Forns Warbler ( Teretistris fornsi ) is a small passerine bird in the genus Teretistris in the family of warblers ( Parulidae ). The distribution area is located in the east of Cuba. From the IUCN this type is known as " not at risk " out (least concern).

Features

Forns Warbler reach a body length of 13 centimeters. The wing length is 5 to 6 inches in the male, the female, 5.3 to 5.8 centimeters. Adult Forns Warbler and young birds from the first year have a medium gray crown, nape, sides of the neck and top feathers with a faint olive - brown tint. The wings are blackish - gray with medium gray feather edges. Also blackish - gray is the tail with medium-gray feather edges. The reins and ear-coverts and throat, chest and upper abdominal wall are yellow; somewhat paler yellow on the lower abdominal area. The eye-ring is yellow and stands out clearly. The rear flanks are gray, the under tail-coverts greyish - white. The blackish - gray beak is somewhat longer than in the closely related species, Yellow-headed Warbler ( Teretistris fernandinae ). The legs are bluish - gray.

Occurrence

Forns - warblers are found in all forest types with a lot of undergrowth and bush thickets in the eastern part of the island nation of Cuba, from sea level to mountainous regions.
