Origanum rotundifolium

The Round-leaved oregano (Origanum rotundifolium ) is a species of the genus Dost (Origanum ) in the mint family ( Lamiaceae). It is rarely used as an ornamental plant in rock gardens and alpine houses.

Features

The Round-leaved Dost is an evergreen dwarf shrub that reaches heights of growth to 30 centimeters. Its bracts are 8-25 mm long and yellowish- green.

The flowering period is from June to August.

Occurrence

The Round-leaved Dost occurs in Georgia and northeastern Turkey. He settled cliffs and rocky slopes at altitudes from 250 to 1300 meters.
