Orikum ( Albanian: Orikumi ) is a city in southern Albania. The Bashkia in Vlora district is located south of Vlora. The municipality covers 314 km ² at the southern end of the bay of Vlora, from where it extends south into the hinterland to the Llogara Pass. The Karaburun peninsula and the island of Sazan belong. In addition to the city Orikum includes the villages Radhima, Tragjas (1288 inhabitants), Dukat i Ri ( 2961 inhabitants) and Dukat i Vjetër (1604 inhabitants) to the community - a total of a population of 5500 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). The local authorities, however, specify twice the number of 11,000 inhabitants. The city is located about one kilometer from the beach on the southeastern end of the bay. Here not quite live 4500 inhabitants. The National Highway 8 (SH 8) passes through the town on the eastern outskirts of the village and leads from Vlora Coming on to Himara and Saranda. From Orikum to the mountain village Dukat there are more than eleven kilometers. In the other direction Radhima is located five kilometers from the center of the community.

The beaches on the Bay of Vlora and the city have developed rapidly in recent years tourism. There are numerous hotels, apartment houses, restaurants and a marina has been built. The rest of the municipal area is very rural and mountainous. In the Maja e Čikeš very south of the highest point is reached with 2045 müa. Large sections of the community are protected, such as the National Park Llogara. At the edge of the bay there are a significant lagoon.

In the southwest of the bay is the naval base Pashaliman, one of the two main points of the Albanian Navy. Today vessels for the Albanian Navy have been built here. Pashaliman, Turkish port for the Pasha, is used as a port for thousands of years. During the Cold War it was temporarily Soviet naval base - the only one in the Mediterranean.

In the field of military base lies the ancient Oricum. The Greek colony was situated on a small hill facing the sea with Acropolis and the theater. The excavations in the Archaeological Park Oricum currently for visitors - especially for foreigners - difficult to access, since they are located within the Naval Base.

Southwest of the site is in a remote church of Marmiroi. The small building on a hill surrounded by a swamp, is dated to the early part of the 10th century in other sources from the 13th century. In the village Tragjas is the Castle of Gjon Boçari.
