Orion Electronics

The Orion Elektronikai Kft (English Orion Electronics Ltd. ) Is a Hungarian manufacturing facility and a repair service. In addition, the company marketing solutions and distribution and storage of the products for the company offers.

History

The company was founded in 1913 in Budapest as a manufacturer of light bulbs, and began in 1920 with the production of radios. Orion was in the 1920s and 1930s, one of the largest radio producers worldwide. Later, in 1956, expanded its product range to Orion TV; the first color TV the company appeared in 1975. Orion has long been a state-owned company until it was privatized in the early 90's and adopted by the Singaporean investor Thakral Group in 1997, the world's 8,000 employees and an annual turnover of 2.5 billion U.S. dollars achieved. But Orion exists since then as an independent subsidiary. We walked further and further from a manufacturer of consumer electronics to a contract manufacturer. Since 2001, Orion 's manufacturing partner Logitech in Europe.

Operations

Orion is now a manufacturing company and manufactures for 15 clients, including General Electric, JVC Kenwood and Logitech. Consumer electronics under the Orion brand is manufactured from 1958 based in Osaka consumer electronics manufacturer Orion Denki and only distributed by the Hungarian Orion Electronics.

Offices

Orion Electronics has subsidiaries in Hungary, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. In Hungary still located next to the headquarters in Budapest a logistics center in Sóskút.
