Orivesi

Orivesi [ ɔrivɛsi ] is a city in western Finland with 9574 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located around 40 km north-east of Tampere Pirkanmaa in the landscape.

Orivesi first time was mentioned in the church records in 1540, the church was built in 1869. Eräjärvi The community was incorporated in 1973 by Orivesi, 1986 Orivesi was declared a city. In 2007 the urban area enlarged by the annexation of the western parts of the disbanded community Längelmäki.
